To differentiate it from the red panda, a nearby musteloid, the term "giant panda" is occasionally used. What is unique about a panda? The only bears that have thumbs are pandas. Pandas differ from other bears due to the unique bone that can be found on their wrists. The sixth toe of a panda is used to grasp bamboo. This bone performs similar functions to human thumbs despite not being fully opposable; pandas primarily use it to grasp their preferred bamboo. How many hearts do pandas have?
